IN-PERSON JOURNEYS

The SGM Journeys each focus on a specific challenge within the food system, allowing practitioners and potential multipliers to emerge in the local reality and deep dive into the local models. Participants will spend three days together to understand the local context and learn about structures, curriculums, successes, and challenges while contributing to the local initiatives hosting the group.

The main objective is to learn with each other and exchange and replicate best practices more effectively when returning home.

After the Journey, participants will organize a webinar for the global SGM community to share the local model, key learnings, and replication efforts. Their stories will inspire the community to act beyond the participants.

Last year's learning journey, from September 7th to 10th, delved into cross-sector collaboration for food justice and equity in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. Co-hosted by Appetite for Change and the Metro Food Justice Network (MFJN), this Learning Journey showcased various local network projects, providing participants with insights into different approaches. Read all about it here.

Upcoming Learning Journey;

October 19 to 26, 2024 - Nepal, co-hosted by Food Networks and SAVAGUNA
