#UniversalPlate Campaign

The #UniversalPlate Campaign was born as a solidarity effort amidst rising threats to food security during the first year of the COVID-19 Pandemic. As the years passed, the need for this collective action grew, and with it, the response of our global community.

Under the #UniversalPlate, social gastronomy organizations, companies, food banks, local governments, universities, and individuals joined together to take a stand against hunger and demonstrated the impact of sharing a meal. For many organizations already working to ensure their communities were well-fed, taking part in the campaign was a celebration of daily business. For others, it was a launchpad for involvement in a global movement, starting with cooking and sharing meals as volunteers, organizers, chefs, storytellers, and more.

Each year, we engaged new stakeholder groups in this collective action, and we continued to grow with the magnitude of impact participants shared under this umbrella campaign.

Thank you to all who participated in the #UniversalPlate, collectively serving two million meals between October 12th and 19th.
